Late again

Well I had hopes of writing something before I took a little vacation but alas....didn't happen. So while I'm fighting a battle with jet lag I thought I'd drop a few lines. Hmmmm, what's new in my geek world....well I did nearly finish my Ork fleet for Uncharted Seas though I still have to snap some shots of them. All the destroyer and cruisers are done, all I have to do is finish up the battleship and life will be good.

I saw that Fantasy Flight is coming out with another expansion for Arkham Horror. That'll make 4 board expansions now. I'm not sure if my group will try and put all the boards together. We tried with the first two expansion and it was just killer. Having to get people to the other boards just trying to stop all the bad things for popping off....uggh, plus I don't know if anyone has a table big enough to put the whole damn thing one..the original hardly has enough room on a 4x6 table. Miskatonic Horror, can't wait to try it out though. It's supposed to have new injuries and extra cards for some of the expansions and new investigators. It'll be a blast no matter what.

Now to Rome. We used my friend's companion passes that works for United. So basically we got to fly in the cushy international business class. Not too shabby, especially when it's an overnight and you can turn your seat into a bed and have unlimited drinks. We did have to wait a bit to check into our hotel so we decided to do some walking around. Our first stop put us at the Pantheon, which I like but I wasn't overwhelmed by it. The age of the thing is more awe inspiring than the building itself is, in my opinion. I still think it's a thing that needs to be seen if you have not seen it yet. After that we took a little walk to this gelato place my friend Amanda sent me too. Giolitti's. I'm not such the aficionado that I can discern the difference between bad gelato and good, but I know this stuff has to be good, cause the couple of times I've tried gelato, it seemed that all I was eating was ice cream. This stuff, not so. I recommend this place if you do go to Rome. After that it was close to the time where we could check in to our hotel so we walked by the Trevi Fountain on our way back. Now this time impressed me. The sculptures themselves and the integration into the building. It was just amazing. Can't say enough about it.

On the agenda today? Probably the Coloseum and places surrounding.....

So I've been working on my Demons of Chaos army list. I figured I'd do a 1000 pts first and then go up from there. Now with the new rules, it's impossible to get a good hero for demons and the way I figure it you'd need at least 3000 to get a good lord. Either way I'm excited to get this thing going. I had initially went with 2 10 man units of Pink Horrors and a 10 man unit of Plaguebearers but after a discussion with my buddy Jeff, I let him talk me into staying with my original design of a 15 man unit of Pink Horrors and a 15 man unit of Plague Bearers. Let me know what you guys think.....

Today I was having a discussion with my buddy Stu about what if Cliff Burton hadn't died and someone else from Metallica died instead. I personally would throw my dart at Lars. Stu said Hammett. Then the conversation went to who would replace them which then warped to who would the ultimate thrash band make up would be. So we came up with the format for the ultimate thrash band to comprise 1 vocalist, 2 guitars, bass and drums. Stu's list went like this.

Drums: Dave Lombardo (Slayer)

Bass: Cliff Burton (Metallica)

Guitar: Scott Ian (Anthrax)

Guitar: Jeff Hannemann (Slayer)

Vocalist: Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly) or Laura Nichol (Light This City)

I find it very interesting that Stu would go with a female lead vocalist...not something I would go with in the Ultimate Thrash Band....so my line up would be this

Drums: Vinnie Paul (Pantera)

Bass: Vince Hornsby (Sevendust)

Guitar: Scott Ian (Anthrax)

Guitar: Alex Skolnick (Testament)

Vocalist: Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour)

Now I chose Vinnie Paul cause the guy has a great groove to his drumming. Whether he's 32nd noting it or laying down a 4/4, it's just rock solid. Vince Hornsby is also a great groove bassist. He's not the most technical but he lays down a nice groove that flows with the drums. Praise and Beautiful off Sevendust's Animosity album are excellent examples. Now Scott Ian is just an icon in the industry and what I would say is the most under rated guitarist in the genre. The guy is rock solid as a rhythm guitarist and really holds the song together when Danny Spitz is wailing. The guy is concrete. These 3 together would be a bomb shelter....solid and unbreakable as a rhythm section.

For a lead guitarist I went back and forth with who I would put in this slot if I was putting together the band. After long thought I chose either Diamond Darrell or Alex Skolnick as my final two and decided to go with Skolnick because he's just a little more technical than Diamond. That's not to say that Diamond isn't an excellent player. The guys is an icon in his own right but I'm more partial to the more technical shredder. Must be the educated musician in me.

Vocalist was another debate in my own head. I had this narrowed down to either Chuck Billy or Corey Taylor. Now Chuck Billy is a beast and he can be melodic when he wants to be. Return To Serenity is a good example but it's not my favorite song from Testament. In the end I chose Corey Taylor because he can growl and he can sing equally well while in my opinion Chuck Billy's strength is in his growl as it should be.

Well that's my Ultimate Thrash Band and I would love to hear what other people would come up with if you like this genre of music.

New year...new determination

Soooooo. I guess with the new year comes a new determination to paint muh figs. So as we chatted yesterday morning about getting my Ork fleet done for Uncharted seas, I actually finished a small model. It's actually my test model to see if I liked what I would do.

So with the Dwarf fleet I went for a clean look because well they're dwarves and they likes themselves some craftsmanship. With the Orks I went with a more feral feel. I, hopefully, tried to get a green wood look, like the orks didn't care what kind of tree they cut down. "Let's jus git da boats dun and kill sum 'oomies!" kind of attitude. I hope the look works. Here is a shot of the finished product.

Probably not the best shot but I'm tired and I'll try and get a new shot up in the morning. I really need to get better at shooting models. Well on to paint the other 5!

2011?! Already!?

Well friends....here we are in 2011. It's almost been a whole week already. I don't know where to start. Do I start with the NFL playoffs? Upcoming projects? Upcoming games that need to be played. I think I'll start with a little football.

So the regular NFL season has ended and the playoffs begin this weekend. We'll start with the game I'm most interested in. Eagles vs. Packers. Being a Chicago fan I'm hoping the Packers get their asses kicked. Now to be a realist, its been shown that the Eagles can fall apart if you pressure Vick something fierce. The Bears did it, and then the Vikings did it. I mean the VIKINGS! That's a team you shouldn't have to lose to as horrible as they were but the Eagles did. Now the Packers have a pretty good defense so I'm betting that the Packer will roll over the Eagles though I'd rather have the Bears play the Eagles in round 2. The next game I would throw money at is the Saints vs. the Seahawks. A team with a losing record in the playoffs. While this is kinda ridiculous in itself I do agree with Tony Dungy. Winners of the division deserve to be in there or winning the division means nothing and if that's the case why have divisions. All signs point to the Saints winning and normally I would agree. I'm really hoping for some crazy upset win. It is the playoff for god's sake.

The AFC. Not a fan. Though I would like to see the Jets beat the Colts cause Indiana is too close to Illinois and I can't stand the Colt fans running in my city. Reality again. Don't think the Jets can do it and Sanchez is not Manning yet....if ever. The other game is the Chiefs vs the Ravens. I would love to see the Chiefs go all the way. Ravens are strong and I do hates me some Ravens also but I also don't think KC has enough to beat the Ravens, the Steelers, and the Pats. That's just a lot to go through.

Upcoming projects. I've got two on my plate right now. Started on my Ork fleet for Uncharted Seas. I'm working on a test model at this time and I will get some pics up shortly after I get it done. Concurrent to that is my Demon army for Warhammer. I'm putting together a small host to use at the Adepticon Warhammer team tourney. Though I'm not sure I'm enthused to play in the team tournament. I've been asked by a couple of people to team up. I'm just not sure I can pull the gumption to play. I will have the army ready in case said people would really like me to play. I can't let the friends down. Got a couple of units of Pink Horrors and Plague Bearers to paint. When I get my list finalized I'll post and hopefully some of you will critique and advise.

So I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve and here's to a great 2011 for everyone. Skooch get home soon. Gen Con is calling.

Merry Xmas everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Only 3 more days left and we'll be into 2011 which hopefully will be bringing me more motivation to paint some figs.

I hope everyone also got some great loot from Santa this year. I personally am very happy with what I scored. I'm a very difficult person to shop for, so it's always great when people can get me stuff that I don't already have. So this post I want to dedicate to my latest painting project which is finished and what I got for Christmas.

So of the late I haven't been much on playing the classics, ie: 40k, Fantasy, Warmachine, or FoW. I've quite gotten into a game called Uncharted Seas. It's a fantasy naval battle not unlike Man O' War. I've pick up two starter fleets, Dwarves and Orks. I just finished my Dwarf fleet. Here are some of my pics. I'll be posting the Orks next. Just getting to start them after the new year.

So now it's time to show off what I got for Xmas. Let me say again how I love the stuff I got this year. It's almost all stuff that I'm gonna use on a daily basis. So the first thing I'm gonna show off is this Arkham Horror expansion that I got. This game is a favorite among the gaming group. We just love to play this game but when you put all the board and card expansions together, this thing becomes MASSIVE and quite overwhelming :).

Next, my friends Melissa and Adam got me the Seafarers expansion for Settlers of Catan. We've been playing thing game quite a bit lately and getting the expansions is only gonna insure that this game stays in rotation.

One of my most favorite gifts this year. My lady got me this awesome coffee press. I used it this morning too and I must say that it does make a better tasting cup of coffee when you make it this way than with a drip. This thing will get a ton of usage.

So this is a bottle of beer that came with a gift card to Binny's that was my secret Santa gift at work. Oh how Santa knows me well. Haven't opened it yet, but I'll be drinking this thing during New Years Eve.

This here is a stocking stuff that my girlfriend got me. Not sure what it's supposed to represent but what the hell, I'll read it and maybe I'll glean some hidden gem from the mind of Charles Shultz.

This by far is one of the coolest things I was able to procure of the winter holiday. I got this from a White Elephant gift exchange at a Christmas party. It's a set of shot glasses with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it. Love it!

Another expansion for the Settlers of Catan that my woman got me. Can wait to try this one out.

I got a set of dice for the Arkham Horror game. I'm glad the lady got this for me as I was eyeing this set of dice for our games of Arkham Horror. Another gift that will see much usage.

The final two gift my girlfriend got me are also awesome. The first is a Shadowrun sourcebook called Feral cities. Covering many of the overrun cities of the Awakened World. I've been waiting for this book to come out so I can add some of these cities to my campaign. The last gift is a book reading lamp which, according to my girlfriend, I needed desperately as to not keep her up while I read and she tries to sleep.

Xmas Time!

Well Xmas draws near and I'm drawn to thinking about what I asked for on my wishlist which coincedentally is all boardgames. I'm not sure when I drifted away from RPG's and table top wargaming. I mean, I've always enjoyed a good boardgame on the occasion but of the late I've really been putting in the overtime with games like Settlers of Catan, Last Day on Earth, the revamped Talisman, Arkham Horror, Cash and Guns, Robo Rally, etc, etc, etc.

It makes me think that maybe it's the group I've been playing games with every once in awhile. Seems like it's board games with a smattering of Shawdowrun, Eberron, and Vampire. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about the quality of my geek time. I'm just making an observation.

Or is it something else. I was chatting with my buddy Stu the other night about how we kinda fell away from table top wargaming and he's in the industry for God's sake. For me I think it's because I just don't have a solid group of players anymore. Though I will say that I have definitely moved away from 40K and such. I'm liking the square bases more lately. Uncharted Seas has captured most of my attention. I do likes me a good sea battle from time to time.

So I guess back to my original statement...wishlist...I'm looking over my list again and it's mostly expansions for Settlers, Empire Builder which is a railroad game that uses crayons and a map. Another Arkham Horror expansion and the latest version of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. It the old days this list would've been miniatures galore. What's on everyone else's list? Maybe I need new ideas?

On another side note, anyone try that Kinect yet? I'm still up in the air with this contraption. I hear good things. In reality I've read good things. Let me know what you guys think. If I don't post again soon, I want to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Away a long time

Well, seems like I've been neglecting my blog for far too long. Life just has a way a pushing these little projects of mine aside. This time (I know I've said this before) I'm going to make an effort to keep this going.

Well what's new...picked a few new games...Starcraft 2, Blood Bowl: Legend...wait for it....dary Edition. Starcraft, what can I say. Classic! Not much are as far a new but the story was fun to play and I just can't hate this game. Still love playing with the crew multiplayer. Some new units and some old units gone. I miss the Wraiths in multiplayer.

Blood Bowl. In my humble opinion another classic. If you love the board game then you'll like the computer version. There's a real time version to the game that I haven't tried yet cause I'm scared that I might like a real time version of this turn based game. One day I'll brave that option and see what the hubbub is. All the races are there. I'm digging some Norse beat downs though I did get my ass handed to me by a Lizardman team the other day. The multi-player was a little confusing to figure out but once I did it seemed to flow real nice especially with trying to play with a comrade.

Picked up a new Droid phone awhile back. The Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. I must say that some people have labeled it the iPhone killer but I personally feel that it doesn't take much to kill the iPhone. It's a 16gb phone with an upgradable microSD slot up to 32gb which give you a total of 48gb. That in itself is a Sonic Kick to the iPhone. The apps are there in the Droid Market. I really haven't found an app I couldn't get on the Droid, though I'm not the tech junkie that some of these yahoos are. I must say that I do loves me the Captivate.

RPG front...let see...started using the Obsidian Portal sight which is a fantastic tool for GM's. Created a page for my Shadowrun campaign that allows me to post updates to the players without having to worry about if I sent the wrong email to the wrong person. Allows me to jot down notes that I can access where ever there is an internet connections. There's an adventure log for the players to edit so they can keep track of what they've done in their campaign. Just a lovely tool if you're a GM.

Well that's all so far. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate it. Gonna be heading to a friends house for orphan Thanksgiving where I think Cash & Guns and Creationary are on tap for entertainment. Maybe some Win, Place or Show. Creationary, if you haven't picked it up is a friggin' awesome game especially if you love Legos. It's basically Pictionary with Legos. How awesome is that? Anyways Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

So just a quick note and shout out to a dear friend that The Geeks With Attitude lost. Our friend Don Peak finally ended his fight with cancer with a loss. We've known Don since high school, even played in a cover band with him. He was a good friend and we will miss him greatly. Here's to you Don Peak, "Lechyd Da!!" (That's bottoms up in Welsh for those who don't want to google). Don you were a good friend, good father and a good soldier. My only regret is that I wasn't able to be there at the end like the rest of our friends.

Well many a thing has happened over the past few days that I'd like to mention briefly.

First of all, still haven't decided if I'm gonna bite the bullet and get the Iphone. Many a good compelling argument, I'm just a wuss and don't want to spend $100.

Let's talk sports for a bit. Thank God the Lakers won, or should I say Phil Jackson won so I can stop saying I want the Lakers to win. 10 RINGS! I'm going to have to jump on the band wagon and say I think that Phil Jackson is, to date, the best NBA coach of all time. 10 championships! 6 with my beloved Bulls and 4 with the not so beloved Lakers. I think it's a testament to Mr. Jackson to reach the top with egos like Shag and Kobe then quit for 2 years and the come back and win 2 more. Even though I don't like Kobe Bryant much, anyone can see the punk from 4 years ago has change to a team leader under the hands of Phil Jackson. I even remember Phil say that he couldn't coach Kobe. I guess the break was all he needed to get enough strength to punch through Kobe's attitude. Phil's quote of his mentor, Red Holzman sums it all up, "Individual sacrifice for the good of the group." Congratulations Phil Jackson.

So I picked up Ghostbusters from the store today and I've played it for probably an hour now. I must say that I'm impressed with the game so far. I tend to enjoy games more when they have a story. A good story. So far the story coming from Ghostbusters is thoroughly enjoyable. I was a little bit dubious when I heard that Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis wrote the script. I wasn't sure how guys who write movies were going to be able to translate a script for video games. I think they did alright. More impressed with the fact that they got the original cast to do the voices of the characters.

Gameplay, it's 1st person shooter where, you guessed it, you use your proton pack to shoot ghosts and evil beasties. Of course there are upgrades you can buy for your pack like, you can reduce the stream wavering so it shoots more in a straight line. You can upgrade you PKU scanner and such. I like how you have to wear down the ghosts by hitting them constantly with the stream until they're a bit knocked down then you have to "wrangle" them by using the capture stream and work them toward the trap which you have to drop. My only negative is that it is easy to lose the trap when you throw it down. It's hard to see the guide light during game play when you have 3 or 4 streams flying about the room, and then you lose the ghost trying to find the trap. I'll talk about this more as I invest more time into the game.

I'm hoping to get some painting done sometime soon, I think my next project will be to finish my team tournament army from Adepticon 2 years ago. It's my pre-heresy Thousand Sons Space Marines. I'm going to have to retool my list as GW changed the damn codex again for the, oh I don't know, 12th time. When I get motivated to start that, or should I say finish that project I'll try and post some pics of my progress.

Motivation to paint right now is a rare commodity in Chicago right now.....maybe I can get some imported from Baltimore....

Lord of the 10 rings....

I can not wait long enough for the Lakers to finish off this series. There was a time when I thought the Magic could pull this off, but after watching them kinda self destruct in OT....again, I'm more than confident enough to say that I think Phil Jackson is going to win this series. 2 days off before playing game 5 in LA. Odds are in Phil's favor now.

Let me be clear that I'm rooting for Phil Jackson...not the Lakers. I want Phil Jackson to have 10 rings....one for each finger...as a head coach. I know he has eleven total, 2 as a player and 9 as a head coach. One for each finger. I want Phil to be able to go to some upstart punk like Marbury or D Wade and wave both hands in their face and say, "TEN BITCHES!"

Ok, now I want to talk Iphone. Who has one? Jay I know you do, but what I'm specifically asking is how is the battery life...really. All the tech geeks, who load it full of shit and then say it's runs out constantly. I want to really know, from regular users, how is the battery life. 1 day, 2 days, etc. I'm wavering on getting one. 99 bux is not a bad price now.

Anyone know of any good Warhammer 4ok tournaments going on in the Illinois area? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Getting Older?

Okay...I really thought I knew myself. I got up this morning to cranberry muffins baking. Rebecca (my lovely wife) enjoys making breakfast for the family on weekends. A few minutes after I got up, the buzzer goes off and here comes said wife with 2 muffins for me....with butter. I know, I know. "Wow" you're saying. Would your significant other, or insignificant other as the case may be, butter your morning muffins? Would they??? Would they really??

Rebecca and the kids are fighting over who needs to clean the children's bedrooms. Brennah feels that since Braeden made the mess in her room, she should make him clean it. Braeden wants his mother to clean his room because he stepped on Superman and hurt his foot. I clean the living room and even break out the vaccum and quickly run it over the floor.

After finishing the living room, I have a decision to make. Break out the new GW Commissar Lord I need to paint, go lay down in the bedroom, or help the kids clean their rooms. Two of these decisions will no doubt get me in trouble with the misses, who has a wedding to go to later and "doesn't have time to clean up after her three children". I should take offense, but been there, done that...and it does not lead to French Toast with warm mayple syrup on Sunday morning.

My decision??? You would think it was suck up the anger and just sit down and start to paint? But no...I actually decide to go outside and mow the lawn??? What the Hell??? Being the weekend, I should want to be lazy and enjoy the time. But I actually brave the heat to make my lawn look just a little bit better. I tell ya....I really must be getting old. The Jason I know just wants to relax and veg out on the weekends. Some where with this age comes responsibility and a small case of pride in my house, or at least the way it looks to everyone else.

Seasons Ending..

Well I've finally caught up with the Tivo, watched all the season finales so far and now I'm left with the decisions of which shows to continue watching and which ones to get rid of. I guess I'll start with Dollhouse only because I've been scanning the web and I've seen that they've renewed it for another season. Just let me point out how on the fence I am about this show is that I never even really DVR'd the show. I would just watch it at work on Hulu.

So I was never into Joss Whedon shows. I never dug Buffy or Angel, though I do love me some Firefly and I thought Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog was genius so to be honest I didn't even realize this was Joss Whedon show until I saw the credits. I basically started watching it because Eliza Dushku was in it and she's number 3 on the stalk list. If you haven't watch the finale you can stop reading here. While throughout the show I was like it's ok, it never really knocked my socks off. It is very interesting concept though. Tailor made companions, all you have to do is pay a lot of money, tell them what you want and boom you got a hot woman who loves to play video games and laser tag. So the main bad guy is a guy named Alpha who one of the original dolls, who you find out is actually a criminal that they used to trial the program. So long story short, he loses it, kills a bunch of people and is the bad guy behind the scenes. In the season finale you find out he's Wash from Firefly. Now as an actor I like this guy. His character in Firefly was awesome and my favorite. As Alpha, a bad ass killer/computer hacker/schizophrenic, I'm not so sure of. Still undecided if I'm going to continue watching this show, though now that Alan Tudyk is a character, I'm leaning towards continuing though I doubt I'm going to DVR it, I'll just continue to watch it on Hulu as time permits.

Now I come to Supernatural. Season 4 done and I've got to say it's really gotten me excited about the show again. Season 3 wasn't bad but it definately lost me a little. With the bringing in of Angels, flawed some of them, was a great idea. Now what I really love about the angels being brought in is that they got some kind of coup going on. What they're shooting for I can't guess but I'm sure we'll learn more in season 5 since you find out that the upper echelon angels are actually helping the bad guys release Lucifer from Hell. My guess though, is maybe the delusional Archangels think that if they defeat Lucifer that Heaven will come to Earth and bring them closer to God since a couple of times they mentioned that they can't believe humans are God's favorite. Who knows, but I am excited to see what comes next and next season is 5 so syndication here they come. So I'm hoping for a big season if the rumors are true that it will be the last season. My favorite character of the last season is the prophet Chuck. Chuck in the show has been writing comics about the Winchester boys and they find one and figure the guys must be some kind of psychic. When they confront him they find out from the angels that he's one of God's prophets Charles. Still makes me grin when I think about a comic book writer being a prophet.

While there are other shows that I do love I'm just going to finish up with Chuck since we were just talking about the Prophet Chuck. Love this show and I'm glad it was picked up for a 3rd season. I love the fact that Scott Bakula gets to be the father, is the creator of the Intersect and is a spy. So after months of trying to find the guy who created the Intesect, you find out it's his dad that created it and turns out to be a spy. Chuck finally get the Intersect outta his head with the help of his dad only to get it put back in but upgraded to be more bad assed as at the end of the season finale, Chuck lays down the whoop ass on 6 rogue agents and ends with him saying "I know kung fu!" Great cliffhanger. While NBC only renewed just for 13 episode I hope they'll see the light and order the other half to make it a full season. Just really bother me that there can be 37 seasons of Shit Survivor, but a decent show that cares about the storytelling and just doesn't ride the comedy along barely makes it along. Let me just say that that Sarah Lancaster is pretty hot and might just make the top 10 on my stalk list.

Well I've been waiting a bit before commenting on some of the movies that have come out in the past month. Let me start with the new Star Trek movie. I'll go on record and say that I did like it. Enough that I went and saw it on IMAX for a second viewing. I see the points where they tried to stay canon. Capt. Pike showing up was nice and seeing Kirk as kind of a punk before stepping up to be a man was kinda cool. There are only two things in this movie that are negatives. The first one is not that big and can be directly related to the second. First off I'm not sure how I feel about Spock and Uhura knocking boots. I find it weird, but doesn't take too much away from the movie for me. Second, is there ever gonna be a Star Trek movie that doesn't involve the friggin' Time/Space continuum? Couldn't we have a Star Trek movie without someone from the future coming back to the past. Hell Spock alone should have 25,000 frequent Time/Space Continuum flyer miles enough to last the next 2 movies. Again I'll say it didn't really ruin the movie for me, but I'm just saying.

Second movie I would like to talk about is Wolverine: Origins. Now I'm not the biggest Wolverine fan, in fact my favorite X-Man is Cyclops, not the whiny Cyclops from the movie but the solid leader from the comic books. Still I went because it is a comic book movie and I like to see how these pan out. Hell I even rented the most horrible Capt. America movie on VHS tape no less. As expected Wolverine kicks the shit outta everything. I did like that Ryan Reynolds was Deadpool though I didn't like the movie adaptation of Doomsday. I personally would've liked to see Ryan let loose before becoming Deadpool, though I've read he's coming back to reprise the role in his own movie. If they let him be Van Wilder with bad ass sword moves I think it'll be a great movie. Liev played a great Sabretooth, much better than that mook they had in the first X-Men movie. Going back to Deadpool the only thing I didn't like was that he had Cyclops' eye blasts and the extending swords from his hands. The thing I love about Deadpool is he's a sarcastic bad ass, so let him be one! (edited because of sleepy and stupidity.)

Now to sports....Denver-Lakers....this is turning up to be a great series. Holy crap. I thought Barkley might've lost his mind but Denver is here to play and this time they didn't screw up. I know a lot of people are placing the laurel on Kobe but Carmello is playing and cancelling out the Kobe factor and it seems to me that the Lakers bench is not stepping up, but not as bad as the Cavs bench. LeBron rocks 40+ points and they still lose? That third half was re-cock-u-lous! You might as well had LeBron out there by himself with 4 dead bodies as much as his teammates were moving around. In my opinion all that did was make the bench cold so when LeBron shuffled a pass to them and they took a shot, they missed. Turrible, just turrible.

Well what can I say....as soon as Phil Jackson gets 10 championship rings I can stop rooting for the Lakers. In all honesty, Denver had that game in the bag. They dominated almost all 4 quarters and then they unraveled. Carmello pushed Kobe around like a little girl but it was nice to watch the physical game between the two. Denver was right in it till the inbound steal by the Lakers that shut the door on the Nuggets.

Now my latest heartbreak. The Blackhawks. Boo. Though I really really really want the Hawks to win, they're a young team, and the Red Wings are the reigning champs. This second meeting was a great game. Lost by one in OT. I'll give Detroit they're props. If any sports team in Detroit is consistant, it's the Red Wings. Still I'd have rather had the Hawks play Anaheim with home field advantage.

So we've been playing the Arkham Horror campaign that Fantasy Flight has put out. It's the second campaign they put out. For those of you who don't know about the campaign, it's a storyline that makes you use certain aspects and expansions of the Arkham Horror series. I'm really digging it and my gaming group is enjoying it also. When we're finally done with the story line maybe I'll post our results in story form. Maybe.

Well, just a quick note since I'm really not sure where I'm going with this. Many moons ago I had a website up about games, both video and board. Covering almost everything from Formula DE to Warhammer 40K and everything in between. That being said I think I'm going to be heading in that direction again but I think I'm going to add my love of comics and sports to this version of Geeks With Attitude. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
